THERAPY FOR WOMEN

Lately, you don’t feel like yourself.

You might feel overhwelmed or anxious. Or that you are pulled in too many directions. It may feel like things keep getting harder or it may be that the demands keep piling on. On the outside, it can look like you have it all together. Inside, you might feel like you are drowning or running on empty.

Our work will guide you toward calm, ease and clarity. Together, we’ll unpack your mental load, find ways for you to tune out the “shoulds,” and tend to your innermost feelings. We’ll equip you to become the strongest version of yourself.

My approach is relaxed, welcoming and rooted in the premise that you are the expert in your own life. In our work together, you’ll learn skills and strategies to draw on beyond your time in therapy. We will take a holistic view; accounting for mind, body, spirit, community and culture. Therapy with me underscores your uniqueness, your strengths, and your resilience.

I utilize techniques from body-centered modalities including Somatic Experiencing, EMDR, and IFS. I am also trained in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and offer concepts from those as well.

Together, we can address:

  • Anxiety

  • Body image issues

  • Burnout

  • Career or work issues

  • Depression

  • Grief and loss

  • Identity issues

  • Life transitions

  • Parenthood

  • Perfectionism

  • Relationships

  • Stress

  • Trauma

  • Work/life balance

WHAT HAPPENS IN SESSION?
I approach my work with openness to all experiences, identities, body sizes, races, cultures and backgrounds. Sessions with me are conversational. We might practice breathing or mindfulness techniques or put pen to paper if you find those things helpful. My clients typically leave each week with feedback or a new idea to experiment with in daily life. It is important to me that clients feel comfortable giving me feedback, too, and feel comfortable asking questions. Good therapy is a collaborative process.
