Insurance, Fee and Payment FAQ’s

 

DO YOU TAKE INSURANCE?
For New Jersey clients, I am credentialed with Aetna through a company called Headway. Please inquire for further details.

WHAT IS YOUR FEE?
My fee is $200 per 45-minute therapy session.

WHAT FORMS OF PAYMENT DO YOU ACCEPT?
I collect payment after each session and accept credit cards, HSA cards and FSA cards through IvyPay, a HIPAA-secure credit card processor for therapists. It is an ultra-simple, no-swipe process and I will guide you through the quick, easy setup.

WHAT IF YOU DON’T ACCEPT MY INSURANCE?
If I am not in network with your insurance provider, you might be able to submit invoices (frequently referred to as superbills) for reimbursement.

HOW CAN I GET REIMBURSED FOR SESSIONS?
Check your benefits before your first appointment so you know what to expect. You can do this by calling the phone number on the back of your insurance card. Here are some helpful questions to ask:

  • Do I have out-of-network benefits for outpatient mental/behavioral health?

  • Do I have a different deductible for out-of-network vs. in-network?

  • What is my deductible? How much of my deductible has been met? When does my deductible start over?

  • How much is covered per session?

  • How many therapy sessions per year are covered?

  • How do I submit for reimbursement?

  • Do I need authorization for outpatient mental health services?

DO YOU OFFER A SLIDING SCALE FEE?
I offer a limited amount of sliding scale spots, primarily reserved for postnatal families. My sliding scale spots are filled at this time.
